Picuino Pneumatics
An interactive browser simulator for exploring pneumatic circuits—compressors, valves, cylinders, and how air pressure moves through a system.
- Ages Secondary school students (editorial estimate)
- Interactive simulation

What kids actually do
Learners open a web-based pneumatics workbench and place or connect components such as compressors, valves, and actuators on a canvas-style interface.
They can run simulations to see how air flows and how parts respond—useful for trying ideas without physical hardware.
We observed the interface and sample circuit loading; we have not independently built and validated every possible circuit configuration.
What kids can learn
These are learning areas the project is designed to support—not guaranteed outcomes.
- Understanding pneumatic systems and how compressed air drives motion
- Exploring cause and effect in mechanical systems
- Learning through experimentation with circuit layouts
- Developing basic engineering reasoning
Why it's interesting
Pneumatics shows up in real tools—from bike pumps to factory automation. A simulator lets curious teens sketch circuits and ask “what if?” without needing a workshop full of parts.
What parents should know
This is a technical learning tool that may suit older students or guided sessions with an adult. It is not designed as a colorful game for young children. Terminology and layout assume familiarity with basic mechanics or willingness to learn alongside a parent or teacher.
